Rates: $90 - $120 per hour (inc. super)



We are looking for two Geospatial Support Officers to work in the recently established Data and Analytics Office. The Geospatial Support Officer will be responsible for providing support and advice to DAFF staff on geospatial software and tools. In this role you will be a point of contact for Enterprise GIS support requests across the department

In this role you will:

  • Provide technical support and advice to users on geospatial software (desktop and server based), tools and platforms,
  • Manage and maintain enterprise geospatial platforms (ArcGIS Online & ArcGIS Enterprise) including implementing platform governance and procedures.
  • Support migrating existing user content between AGOL accounts.
  • Provide geospatial technology and best practice advice to business areas including providing spatial data and platform architectural advice.
  • Assist in geospatial application implementations and upgrades.
  • Liaise with spatial vendors to elevate spatial platform and user queries and issues
  • Coordinate geospatial software packaging with IT and business area testers.
  • Participate in a positive culture of continuous improvement, agility, security, and user engagement.
  • Actively build and maintain relationships throughout the agency, build awareness of projects with potential GIS requirements/impacts.


Essential Criteria

  • - Experience with Esri software suite, particularly ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL) or ArcGIS Enterprise. o Experience managing geospatial platform or systems would be preferred. - Experience or knowledge of geospatial data management best practice and advice. - Experience or ability to manage and respond to user support requests, related to, software licensing, software access, and general geospatial advice in a timely manner. o Experience with ITIL or client support practices would be advantageous. - Ability to upskill staff in use and management of AGOL/ArcGIS Enterprise and desktop software. - Ability to communicate effectively with geospatial users or varying ability, IT providers and the public.


Desirable Criteria

  • - Experience with python, ENVI, FME, QGIS is desirable but not essential. - Experience integrating ESRI within Power BI or other applications (desirable).
